The Spiral Bridge was the original structure over the Mississippi River at Hastings, MN and was in service 56 years from 1895 to 1951. The spiral design allowed clearance for river traffic to pass underneath, as well as provide direct access to the main commercial Downtown area via 2nd Street.

Hastings, Minnesota is recognized as the first official Bird City Minnesota, which is a program that encourages urban bird conservation. The city has proven their commitment to creating bird habitat, reducing threats to birds, and engaging citizens in birding and bird conservation.

Originally the Dakota County Courthouse, this famous Hastings Building was constructed in the early 1870's by Minnesota's famous architect, A. M. Radcliff. In the early 1990's the structure was renovated and re-established as Hastings City Hall.
